It’s the last week of the year which is an opportune time to reflect on your writer’s life. Here is a 10-part series which guides you through a process of looking back at this year’s creative accomplishments, then establishing some writing goals for the upcoming year.

Day 1: Looking Back

Day 2: Assessing Where You Are

Day 3: Where Do You Want To Go As A Writer?

Day 4: Practical Matters

Part 5: Going Public

Part 6: Schedule

Part 7: Time Management

Part 8: First Draft

Part 9: The Only Way Out Is Through

Part 10: Trust the Process

I go through these ten steps every year and I find it helps me to come up with some S.M.A.R.T. goals (Smart. Measurable. Achievable. Realistic. Timely).

My writing goals for 2022: Write a feature length comedy spec script by June 30th, while continuing to develop characters for a novel which I will begin to write in the fourth quarter of the year.

How about you? What are your goals for 2022?
