Hundreds of writers and supporters showed up yesterday to picket and protest the current stalemate with the AMPTP.

Yesterday marked the first major WGA strike event in Chicago where hundreds of writers and supporters picketing outside the NBC Tower.

Chicago is a major hub for television and film production, and is home to one of the largest studio facilities in North America: Cinespace Studios. Everything from The Chi to The Bear to Chicago Fire and Chicago Med, plus dozens more projects are filmed here.

Well, The Chi is shut down. Other projects to follow.

I was preparing for a screenwriting class at DePaul today, so couldn’t picket, but two of my students did!
