Wanted! Volunteers for Screenplay Analysis Series!

Could you spare some time to do a scene-by-scene breakdown of a 2021 movie script?

Every year for the last decade, we have run a biweekly series in which we analyze a movie script from the previous year. A key part of that initiative is a scene-by-scene breakdown of the script in question. To date, there are 107 breakdowns in the Go Into The Story archives. This is a fantastic resource for the online screenwriting community to be able to access this content in order to analyze the story structures of these movies.

Here’s the thing: Each of these breakdowns has been put together by volunteers. And I’m seeking your help now.

This year, we have already read and analyzed three 2021 movie scripts: CODA, The Mitchells vs. the Machines, and The Tomorrow War. The scene-by-scene breakdowns for each have been crafted by these volunteers:

Volunteers not only have the satisfaction of contributing to a valuable online resource, I also acknowledge their efforts each day during the week-long script read and analysis series.

Plus, every single person who has volunteered to do a scene-by-scene script breakdown has conveyed to me how much they learned from that process.
