Wanted: Daily Dialogue themes!
The very first Daily Dialogue post on May 16, 2008 was ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’

Your suggestions wanted in long-running blog series!

Since I launched Go Into The Story on May 16, 2018, I have published a Daily Dialogue post every single day. For those counting, that is 3,454 consecutive days.

Over the years dozens of GITS readers have supported the series in two ways:

  • Suggesting weekly themes
  • Recommended specific movies and dialogue for that week’s theme

Here is an opportunity for you to contribute per weekly themes. Here is upcoming schedule:

November 6-November 12: Competition: Non-Sport [Denise Garcia]
November 13-November 19: Celebration
November 20-November 26: School [Gisela Wehrl]
November 27-December 3: Airplane
December 4-December 10: Medical [Denise Garcia]
December 11-December 17: Lie
December 18-December 24: Holiday [Denise Garcia]
December 25-December 31: New Year
January 1-January 7: Harassment [Gisela Wehrl]

What I’m looking for are themes which:

  • Can support 7 posts: That is the theme has to provide people with multiple movies possibilities so I can fill out at least a week’s worth of posts.
  • Provide something educational re the craft: Whether it’s a specific type of writing we do a la Voice-Over Narration, Flashbacks, or Subtext, or a setting or theme we, as writers, will face in our stories like Wedding, Farewell, or Speech, the theme should have some applicability to our craft.
  • Inspiration: One point of the Daily Dialogue series and why I publish them at 6AM is for readers to start the day with some inspiration, choice dialogue to stoke our creative fires.

So if you could take a few moments and reflect about possible Daily Dialogue themes, then post your suggestions in this thread, I’d appreciate it.
