There is no short cut

There is no golden method. There is no guaranteed approach to writing a million dollar spec script. All of that hype is bull shit.

What there is is this: The Craft.

And that requires time. Lots and lots of time.

It requires energy. Lots and lots of energy.

It requires persistence. Lots and lots of persistence.

Watch movies. Read scripts. Write pages.

Those are key to learning the craft.

Anyone who tries to sell you a screenplay formula is providing you nothing more than a path toward a formulaic script. Moreover, while each spec script is important, learning the craft is ultimately more important. That is, if you want to do more than sell a spec script, if you want to have a career as a screenwriter.

Focus on your writing.

Focus on learning the craft.

Avoid anything pitching a short cut…
