Universal acquires untitled John Lennon and Yoko Ono biopic project written by Anthony McCarten. From Deadline:

Universal Pictures is in negotiations to option rights to an untitled drama about the epic love story between John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and Jean-Marc Vallée has been set to direct and edit. He intends to make this his next film.

Yet another drama film project involving a famous historical figure.

This is an option deal.

McCarten is repped by CAA.

By my count, this is the 35th spec script deal in 2018.
