Spec Script Deal: “The Tip”

TriStar Pictures acquires thriller spec script “The Tip” written by Cooper McMains. Via Deadline:

The precise storyline is largely under wraps, but we’re hearing that elements involve a waitress, a hefty $10K tip from a stranger with events turning dangerous.

Sounds like a genre-bend version of the 1994 movie It Could Happen to You:

A police officer promises to share his lottery ticket with a waitress in lieu of a tip.

McMains is repped by Verve and The Arlook Group.

By my count, this is the 29th spec script deal of 2019.
