Spec Script Deal: “The Oberlin Incident”

Paramount acquires horror thriller spec script “The Oberlin Incident” written by Cory Goodman. Via Deadline:

Pace of this deal shows the appetite for material that can be turned into movies quickly. Verve sent the script out to buyers Monday afternoon, and there were multiple bidders by the following day with Paramount prevailing late Tuesday evening.

Deal is a reported high-six figures.

Goodman is repped by Verve and Aperture Entertainment.

By my count, this is the 15th spec script deal in 2018.

There were 31 spec script deals year-to-date in 2017.
