Spec Script Deal: “The King”

New Line Cinema acquires historical drama spec script “The King” written by Randall Wallace. From The Wrap:

“The King” is a historical epic that will be based on the true-life story of Kamehameha, the king who was the first to unite the Hawaiian islands.

Dwayne Johnson is attached to star, Robert Zemeckis to direct.

Wallace is repped by WME.

By my count, this is the 29th spec script deal in 2018.
