Spec Script Deal: “The Bee Keeper”

Miramax acquires action thriller spec script “The Bee Keeper” written by Kurt Wimmer. Via Deadline:

The Bee Keeper is a lightning-paced thriller deeply steeped in the mythology of Bee Keeping. Miramax is currently searching for a director. [Jason] Statham, Wimmer and Miramax CEO Bill Block are set to produce.

“The Bee Keeper explores universal themes with an unconventional story that will have fans sitting on the edge of their seats. We’re excited to bring another iconic and irresistible film to audiences around the globe,” said Block.

A reported seven-figure deal. Wimmer is repped by Verve.

By my count, this is the 23rd spec script deal in 2021.
