Spec Script Deal: “Rubble”

Universal Pictures acquires science fiction spec script “Rubble” written by Patrick Pittis. From Deadline:

Universal last Friday won in competitive bidding Rubble, a Patrick Pittis-scripted spec whose premise we will keep under wraps other than to call it a contained thriller with a big sci-fi twist.

Pittis is just getting started at a screenwriter. He’s not in the WGA, yet; in fact, he wrote the spec while working as a movie usher.

Pittis was repped in the deal by Verve Agency.

By my count, this is the 10th spec script deal of 2019.

There were 11 spec script deals year-to-date in 2018.
