Spec Script Deal: “Outdueled”

Amazon MGM acquires action adventure spec script “Outdueled” written by F. Scott Frazier and Jimmy Loweree. Via Deadline:

In an unusually heated and high-priced battle for a spec script with no attachments, Amazon MGM has made a deal for Outdueled. The logline for the script by F. Scott Frazier and Jimmy Loweree is being kept under wraps because it is high concept, but I’m told that this went for a high amount because it has such strong possibilities as a franchise launcher. Deal calls for a wide theatrical release, and a fast track to production.

Writers are repped by CAA and Alldayeveryday.

By my count, this is the 16th spec script deal in 2024.

There were 7 spec script deals year-to-date in 2023.

Note: Those numbers were impacted by the WGA strike from May through September 2023 when no spec scripts could be sold.
