Spec Script Deal: “I Heart Murder”

Sony Pictures Entertainment acquire thriller spec script “I Heart Murder” written by Thomas O’Donnell. From Deadline:

Plot is being kept under wraps, but it’s a female driven thriller, and they’ve already got actresses circling.

Deal is for a reported six figures.

You may ask how O’Donnell can sell a spec since thousands of Guild writers have ‘fired’ their agents. O’Donnell writes for animated TV series and animation writers are not covered by the WGA.

O’Donell is repped by Verve and Circle of Confusion.

By my count, this is the 11th spec script deal in 2019.
