Spec Script Deal: “Homecoming”

Lionsgate acquires comedy drama spec script “Homecoming” written by Brandon Broussard, Hudson Obayuwana, and Jana Savage. Via Deadline:

The script picks up on one of New York’s most eligible bachelors and his eccentric, globetrotting wingman ten years after their graduation from Howard University, as they try to pull their recently divorced friend out of his rut. They do so by taking him back to Howard for its legendary homecoming, there experiencing the best weekend of their lives.

The writers are collectively known as Murder Ink. The script appeared on the 2021 Black List. The writers are repped by APA ( Agency for the Performing Arts).

By my count, this is the 1st spec script deal in 2022.
