The movie version of the opening:
This is such a great opening, not only because it’s funny and sets the tone for the movie, it also explains straight up why the Protagonist (Amy) has developed the life-philosophy she has: She parties and has casual sex, no thought toward having a monogamous relationship because her father “branded” her with his propaganda. Efficient, entertaining writing.
