Note how most of the actual dialogue is different in the movie. What they decided in post was instead of leading with comments deriding the movie, they went the other way: building it up as a cinematic feat. I guess the thinking is to create more of a juxtaposition between heightened expectations and the harsh reality of Tommy’s movie itself.
