Michael, I've made a lot of mistakes in my sojourn through Hollywood over the years, but one thing I got right early on: Get to know script readers. In my first couple of years, I took several of them out for coffee to pick their brains how they approached providing coverage. It was not only an education for me, but made me appreciate a script reader's role in Hwood's script acquisition and development process. I still have a number of agency and studio script readers on my email list.

As for your experience, you hit one a major plus from being a script reader: "you learn what moves a script up the ladder ... things you should be doing in your scripts." I think that's a universal truth among script readers.
