Mark, thanks for your response. I *do* know writers who chart out a trailer for their scripted project precisely for the reasons you lay out. In fact, I sometimes have my university students do the same thing. So much of the movie business today, mainstream AND indie, is about marketing. And people in the marketing department are ALL about trailer moments.
