Jeff, I had a similar reaction. Never read the novel and only seen one adaptation, but I loved this movie. I was so pissed Gerwig did not receive an Oscar nomination for Best Director as she did a masterful job on all fronts.
As far as the time jumps and how they’re handled, that has gotten quite a bit of press and I know that some of my university students found it hard to keep track, but I liked it as it kept me engaged. I’m interested to dive into the script this week because I wasn’t paying attention to the transitions in and out, but I’ll bet they are smartly done.
