With the release of Jurassic World Dominion, much of the attention is given to Colin Trevorrow, deservedly so in directing the monstrous project. Yet Emily Carmichael co-wrote the script with Trevorrow and deserves attention as well.

Interesting quote from Emily in the video: “As the writer of the movie, so much of my experience of this project is the time and care that we put in to the characters and the structure and making the whole story hang together. And i think it’s easy to forget when you’re in that process, the reason we do all of those things is just to create this sheer sense of total awe and complete wonder.”
I tell my students a similar thing: What do you want the audience to feel? We don’t write in a vacuum. We write for an audience. It’s important to keep sight of that as we write our stories.
