I have not seen the movie yet, although it's high on my list. Reading the script, here is my main thought: This is modern mythology. It is ancient cultural rituals played out in contemporary times. A very cool idea for a horror film. Birth. Life. Death. Rebirth. All the big ticket ritual items in evidence here.

Combined with Dani's psychological arc in dealing with (A) her sister and parents' death and (B) the failing nature of her relationship with Christian, the story packs a wallop.

I look forward to reflecting on the story's deeper meaning throughout the week.
