Go Into The Story goes to Paris
In October, I will be leading a three-day seminar on Outils, Techniques et Stratégies.
In October, I will be leading a three-day seminar on Outils, Techniques et Stratégies.
In the spring of 2019, I was invited to Paris to present a three-day seminar on The Protagonist’s Journey. This was an opportunity to share some of the content which I would later write in my book The Protagonist’s Journey: An Introduction to Character-Driven Screenwriting and Storytelling (Palgrave Macmillan). I am pleased to announce I will be returning to Paris in October for another three-day presentation. Here is the agenda in English:

My hosts requested a seminar which focused on the nuts and bolts of screenwriting, so I tailored the content to do precisely that. We will analyze movies and television series, as well as screenplay excerpts, both classic and contemporary.
The previous session in Paris drew over 100 writers, many of them with professional backgrounds. While there, I socialized with a group of working writers and even sat down for an extended interview.
What was the connection? Why, my blog! I discovered it is popular in France. In fact, forty Go Into The Story articles have been translated into French (you may check them out here).
As last time, I will do the presentations in English with simultaneous French translations available to all participants.
If you are a writer in France or in Europe and would like to experience a three-day immersion in the craft of screenwriting, everything from character and story development to the latest in screenplay style and format, mark down these dates: October 5-October 7, 2022.

By the way, it has now been 120 days exactly since The Protagonist’s Journey was released and it is still Amazon’s #1 Best Seller in Film and Television.

There is even some talk about the book being translated into French! You may purchase the book wherever books are sold including these retailers:
The book has received endorsements from over 30 professional screenwriters, novelists, and academics. I look forward to sharing insights from The Protagonist’s Journey and beyond in Paris this autumn!
J’ai hâte de vous y voir!
