“There’s no place like home.”

The Wizard of Oz (1939), written by Noel Langley & Florence Ryerson and Edgar Allan Woolf, adaption by Nebel Langley, novel by L. Frank Baum

The Daily Dialogue theme this week: Homecoming, suggested by Gisela Wehrl who also recommended today’s movie.

Trivia: The movie’s line “Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.” was voted as the #24 of “The 100 Greatest Movie Lines” by Premiere in 2007. “There’s no place like home.” was voted #11 in the same. “Toto, I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.” was 62. The latter is frequently misquoted as, “We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto.”

Dialogue On Dialogue: This line of dialogue represents the end point of Dorothy’s transformation, going from someone who feels alienated from her home to someone who embraces her home.
