“You love me, why didn’t you tell me before?”
— Notorious (1946), written by Ben Hecht
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Alfred Hitchcock. Today’s suggestion by William Martell.
Trivia: Director Sir Alfred Hitchcock and screenwriter Ben Hecht consulted Nobel Prize winner Dr. Robert Millikan on how to make an atomic bomb. He refused to answer, but confirmed that the principal ingredient, uranium, could fit in a wine bottle.
Dialogue On Dialogue: Commentary by William: “When I do classes at film festivals I have two students read the dialogue, ask the class what they think the relationship is like… Then show them the clip. Great example of actions louder than words.”
