“Tara! Home. I’ll go home. And I’ll think of some way to get him back. After all… tomorrow is another day.”

Gone With the Wind (1939), screenplay by Sidney Howard, novel by Margaret Mitchell

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Last Lines. Today’s suggestion by @Mznychka.

Trivia: The movie’s line “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.” was voted as the #1 movie quote by the American Film Institute (out of 100). The closing line, “After all, tomorrow is another day!” was number 31 on the AFI’s list of movie quotes. “As God is my witness, I’ll never be hungry again!” was number 59 on the list. Only Casablanca had more quotes on the list.

Dialogue On Dialogue: Memorable last lines for sure, but pretty melodramatic by today’s standards. A reminder how popular melodrama was in movies for the first several decades of the 20th century.
