Trivia: Because the relationship between Radio and the town is ongoing (even up until the present day), the screenwriter chose to compress the highlights of the relationship to a one-year period.

Dialogue On Dialogue: “The story of a high school coach and the developmentally challenged man who he took under his wing.” The radio plays a major role in the plot including the nickname for Cuba Gooding Jr.’s character.
