Daily Dialogue — December 6, 2019

Housewife: What’re you doing?
Moe Adams: We’re with Life magazine. We’ll be outta here in just —
Bill ‘BB’ Babowsky: I gotta move the camera.

He shifts a camera on a tripod to the left.

Housewife: Whaddya mean Life magazine?
Bill ‘BB’ Babowsky: Just two minutes, ma-am, we’ll be out of your way, just need some pictures for Life magazine and we won’t be bothering you.
Housewife: Life magazine is here on my front lawn?
Bill ‘BB’ Babowsky: Yeah, you see we’re here doing a layout on the benefits of aluminum siding, kind of a Before and After presentation.
Housewife: A Before picture?
Moe Adams: Yeah, so they see your house and then another house with aluminum siding, the other house looking so much more beautiful.
Housewife: In Life magazine?
Moe Adams: Yeah, special issue on home improvements, ways to beautify the home.
Bill ‘BB’ Babowsky: Yes, it’s a wonderful issue, one of the most beautiful pictorial things we’ve ever done at Life, you know, ways to improve the home.
Moe Adams (looking through camera): This is gonna look very good, baby.
Housewife: Our house is gonna be the Before pictures in Life magazine? Are you crazy? We keep Life magazine on our coffee table. Oh, can’t my house be the After?
Bill ‘BB’ Babowsky: No, no, that’s so sweet, but we already have a house that already has aluminum siding that looks just like your house, only it’s ever so much more beautiful.
Moe Adams: Really shows the contrast of what a house can look like.
Housewife: Well, how much does this cost?

Tin Men (1987), written by Barry Levinson

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Sales.

Trivia: The second film in writer-director Barry Levinson’s series of four “Baltimore Films.” The others are Diner (1982), Avalon (1990) and Liberty Heights (1999).

Dialogue On Dialogue: Great scene of a complete sales scam.
