Daily Dialogue — December 30, 2019

Sam: It’s you.
Annie: It’s me.
Sam: I saw you on the street.
Jonah: Are you Annie?
Annie: Yes.
Sam: You’re Annie?
Annie: [holding teddy bear] This must be yours.
Jonah: I’m Jonah. This is my dad. His name’s Sam.
Annie: Hi, Jonah. [to Sam] Sam. [holds up teddy bear] And who’s this?
Jonah: Howard.
Annie: Oh, Howard. Hello, Howard.

She gives Howard to Jonah.

Sam: We’d better go. [extends hand to Annie] Shall we?

Sleepless in Seattle (1993), screenplay Nora Ephron and David S. Ward and Jeff Arch, story by Jeff Arch

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Rooftop.

Trivia: Nora Ephron managed to get Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan when they suddenly became available when their starring vehicle “Inns of New England” for Lawrence Kasdan was cancelled for budgetary reasons.

Dialogue On Dialogue: One of my favorite rom coms, if only because of the Dirty Dozen scene. But this ending is pretty damn good, too.
