Trivia: Producer James L. Brooks said the movie was inspired when Brooks saw a man walking with his daughter, and wondered what would happen if the father committed a crime.

Dialogue On Dialogue: This scene always reminded me of the ending of The Graduate only in this case, I think there’s a chance the couple will make it.
