“Adrian!”
“Adrian!”
— Rocky (1976), written by Sylvester Stallone
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: One Word. Today’s suggestion by @pauldecesare41.
Trivia: Sylvester Stallone wrote his spec script in just three and a half days, supposedly inspired by the bout between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner, in which Wepner was TKO’d in the 15th round. Stallone denied that this was the inspiration for the film but was forced to eventually settle a lawsuit with Wepner.
Dialogue On Dialogue: In his moment of glory as a boxer, where does Rocky’s mind turn to? To the woman he loves, shouting out that one word — “Adrian!” — over and over again in a desperate plea to connect with her in the crowd.
