Daily Dialogue — August 19, 2019

Anton Freeman: Vincent! How are you doing this, Vincent? How have you done any of this? We have to go back.
Vincent: It’s too late for that. We’re closer to the other side.
Anton Freeman: What other side? You wanna drown us both?
Vincent: You wanna know how I did it? This is how I did it, Anton. I never saved anything for the swim back.

Gattaca (1997), written by Andrew Niccol

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Swimming. Today’s suggestion by @ksawa.

Trivia: The name “Gattaca” is composed entirely of the letters used to label the nucleotide bases of DNA. The four nitrogen bases of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) are adenine, thymine, cytosine, and guanine.

Dialogue On Dialogue: We may think of swimming in movies as a carefree pastime. Not in Gattaca as it’s a matter of life or death.
