Jack Singer: We’re gonna jump out of one plane?
Roy Bacon: At 3,000 feet.
Jack Singer: And these chutes are fool-proof, right?
Roy Bacon: Well, as the King always said there’s nothing in this world fool-proof other than a Coupe de Ville… and hookers!

Honeymoon in Vegas (1992), written by Andrew Bergman

The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Las Vegas. Today’s suggestion by @ksawa.

Trivia: Several Mel Brooks connections in this film: 1. Director Andrew Bergman was a writer for Blazing Saddles (1974). 2 “Flying Elvis Roy Bacon” actor Burton Gilliam played “Lyle” in Blazing Saddles. 3. Anne Bancroft who plays Jack Singer’s mother had been married to Mel Brooks. 4. Jack’s office was on same building & floor as from The Producers (1968).

Dialogue On Dialogue: It’s a case of dramatic irony and that the moviegoer knows these are flying Elvises because of the sign on the outside of the airplane which the audience sees… but Jack (Nicholas Cage) does not.
