Trivia: There was a third flashback in Tally’s script — Clarice as a child on the Montana farm when the lambs were being slaughtered — however, the movie’s director Jonathan Demme scrapped that shoot because of how strong Jodi Foster’s performance was in this scene:
Dialogue On Dialogue: The line “Did you get any bad guys” is a subtle setup for what Clarice sets out to do as an FBI agent: Catch bad guys.
