George Hanson: How long did you boys say it was gonna take you to get down there?
Captain America: Oh, about two or three days.
George Hanson: Two or three days? Is that right? Boy, I sure wish I was going with you.
Captain America: Have you got a helmet?
George Hanson: Oh, I’ve got a helmet. [laughs] I got a beauty!
— Easy Rider (1969), written by Peter Fonda & Dennis Hopper & Terry Southern
The Daily Dialogue theme for the week: Motorcycle.
Trivia: Peter Fonda got the idea for this movie after seeing a picture of he and Bruce Dern on their motorcycles. He got Dennis Hopper (who was planning to get out of the acting business and become a teacher at the time) involved when he promised him he could direct the film.
Dialogue On Dialogue: In Easy Rider, the motorcycle was a metaphor for freedom for an entire generation of youth.
