One more thing about the original post: You want to have the confidence you can deliver the goods if offered the opportunity write an original pitch or an open writing assignment. That cannot be faked. It’s only through experience and developing your own approach to story prep and the page-writing process you can gain that confidence.

Finishing one script is a monumental achievement. It’s the difference between saying, “I want to finish a script” and “I have finished a script”. World of difference. But it’s doubtful you will have figured out how to write a script in an efficient, reliable way until you’ve written at least three scripts.
