A Story Idea Each Day for a Month — Day 17
This is the 10th year in a row I’ve run this series in April.
This is the 10th year in a row I’ve run this series in April.
Today’s story: Students find out they’re both having sex with teacher.
Two Florida high school students were so furious to find out their science teacher was sleeping with both of them that they told the man’s wife he was having the affairs, district officials said.
Both teens are now former students at Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach, where they told police they had sex with Corey French, 30, both at the school and in his home.

The 16- and 17-year-old students said it wasn’t until they found out that French had a sexual relationship with both of them that they confronted his wife — even supplying her pictures as evidence of the trysts, according to the report.
— —
The former students told police that French confessed his love to them, and even planned a getaway to Colorado or Alaska with one of the teens, although she realized that it was likely little more than a far-fetched fantasy. One of the teens even scuttled her plans to go to college in hopes that French would leave his wife to be with her, according to the report.
This story brought to mind two movies. The first: Outrageous Fortune.

IMDb plot summary: Two women unknowingly share the same man, but when he disappears, both go out looking for him and enter his surprisingly dangerous life.
The second movie: Election.

IMDb plot summary: A high school teacher’s personal life becomes complicated as he works with students during the school elections, particularly with an obsessive overachiever determined to become student body president.
There you go: It’s Outrageous Fortune meets Election. Two former high school students discover they were having sex with the same teacher. They plan revenge… definitely NOT of the legal kind. I’m thinking dark comedy, but it could go psychological thriller.

Each day in April, I invite you to join me in comments to do some brainstorming. Take each day’s story idea and see what it can become when we play around with it. These are valuable skills for a writer to develop.
See you in RESPONSES to hear YOUR take on this story idea. And come back tomorrow for another Story Idea Each Day For A Month.
