For fifteen years, I have posted a story idea every day in the month of April. These ideas derive from newspaper articles I have crossed paths with online over the course of the preceding year.
Here’s the thing. These ideas are free for you to use — no strings attached. They are solid enough to draw my attention and at least have some merit as a potential movie or TV series. In fact, I’ll often spin out a take, brainstorming a possible story angle.
Answers to two common questions about this series:
Hey Scott, why the hell do you do this?
For nearly four decades, I have constantly been on the look-out for story ideas. This exercise is simply an extension of that work habit.
Nah, I meant give away the ideas. Why don’t YOU use them yourself?
Trust me, I have found story ideas which I stash in my list of concepts. And there have been some ideas I’ve run across where I was really tempted to hoard. But if they’re part of the series, I will have concluded that the idea is simply not for me.
Unless math has changed, 15 times 30 = 450. That’s how many story ideas you will find at the links below.
