2023 Zero Draft Thirty March Challenge: Day 30
One month. FADE IN to FADE OUT. Creativity meets Productivity.
One month. FADE IN to FADE OUT. Creativity meets Productivity.
Zero Draft Thirty: Day 30.
Write an entire draft of a script in March — FADE IN. FADE OUT. Or any sort of creative goal you have in front of you.
Feature length movie screenplay. Original TV pilot. Rewrite a current project. Break a story in prep. Generate a month’s worth of story concepts.
Whatever you feel will ratchet your creative ambitions into overdrive…
DO THAT!
As for me, I will spend the month rewriting a feature film spec script.
If you join the Challenge, I will be right there with you writing each and every day in March! Let’s do this together!

Today’s Writing Quote
“At the top of my computer in big, bold letters, it says, ‘What is the simple emotional journey?’ I look at that all the time.”
— Billy Ray
Today’s Inspirational Video
Hey, if two hobbits can save Middle Earth, we can damn well get to FADE OUT!
Today’s Stax Music Video
I have dedicated the 2023 Zero Draft Thirty March Challenge as Stax Music Month. Part of that decision is to honor one of the greatest record companies of all time (check out their history here). But mostly, it’s an excuse to feature awesome R&B and soul music to get you out of your chair, dance around the room for 5 minutes, churn up your creative juices, then sit right back down and write your ass off.
Today’s featured song: “Hold On I’m Comin’” by Sam & Dave.
I guarantee that if you get up out of your chair … turn on that video … and just dance around the room while it plays …
The next scene you write is going to flat out rock!
Today’s Dalton Trumbo Award winner: Jonathan Melikidse.
This is a special legacy award. Every month at the Zero Draft Thirty Facebook group, we host a Twenty Four Hour Writing Scamper-A-Thon. Generally, it’s the first Saturday of the month beginning at 12AM Eastern (U.S.). Jonathan has been a total Zeronaut in overseeing it almost every single month.

In fact, Jonathan is lining up hosts for our upcoming session which begins this Saturday, April 1st. The idea is to motivate folks to write — at least for one hour — on the weekend. Keep that momentum going. With hosts all around the world, anyone can drop in any time and know there are other folks joining in on that writing scamper.
To honor Jonathan for all the hard work he does on behalf of the Zero Draft Thirty community and writers at large, the recipient of today’s Dalton Trumbo Award is Jonathan Melikidse!

For your chance to win the Dalton Trumbo Award, one given away each day during the Challenge, post something inspiring, here on the blog, via Twitter, or the Facebook group.
Congratulation, Jonathan!
