Today’s Anita Loos Award winner: Debra Montague.
Over at the Zero Draft Thirty Facebook group page, Debra posted this:
I don’t know if this [see photo below] has been posted but this is kind of how I feel today. I’m closing in on the end of Act 2 and the beginning of Act 3 and had a huge revelation in how I’m telling this story. But do I go back and change stuff for the new revolution, or write from here on out with the new idea just so I get the thing done?

This is a tough question. Trish Curtin responded with this:
Take some notes, bullet point the bits that you want to remind yourself to revisit in the rewrite, but keep going till you get to the end. That way you won’t lose on either score.
And I echoed Trish’s advice:
I concur. You’re getting close to Fade Out. I’ll bet you’ll discover even MORE about your story by the time you get there. Plus psychologically, getting to Fade Out is a huge thing, even if you know the story will go through a substantial rewrite. Keep going! I agree with Trish!
The Zero Draft Thirty Challenge is all about forward momentum. Go! Go! Go! And nothing will slow or even stop that momentum than going back to rewrite pages.
For bringing up this important question, today’s recipient of the Anita Loos Award is Debra Montague!

Congratulations, Debra!
