2022 Zero Draft Thirty March Challenge: Day 27
One month. FADE IN to FADE OUT. Creativity meets Productivity.
One month. FADE IN to FADE OUT. Creativity meets Productivity.
Zero Draft Thirty: Day 27.
Write an entire draft of a script in March — FADE IN. FADE OUT. Or any sort of creative goal you have in front of you.
Feature length movie screenplay. Original TV pilot. Rewrite a current project. Break a story in prep. Generate a month’s worth of story concepts.
Whatever you feel will ratchet your creative ambitions into overdrive…
DO THAT!
As for me, I will spend the month co-writing a feature film spec script. It’s based on a story concept I came up with late last year and it may be the strongest comedy idea I’ve ever worked on. My writing partner and I have spent the first two months of the year on character development and breaking story. Now it’s time to jam out a first draft!
If you join the Challenge, I will be right there with you writing each and every day in March! Let’s do this together!

Today’s Writing Quote
“Writing is like driving in the fog. You can only see as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way.”
— E.L. Doctorow
Today’s Inspirational Video
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the courage of men fails,
when we forsake our friends
and break all bonds of fellowship,
but it is not this day.
An hour of wolves and shattered shields,
when the age of men comes crashing down,
but it is not this day!
This day we fight!!
By all that you hold dear on this good Earth,
I bid you stand, Men of the West!!!
And my fellow Zeronauts, this day… WE WRITE!!!
Today’s Loos Award winner: Paul Starkey.
Over at the Zero Draft Thirty Facebook group, Paul posted this:
48 pages. I doubt I’ll type fade out by month’s end but still happy with what I have so far and I will finish it …just maybe not till the end of April
This is a refrain I don’t mind repeating: Any progress is still progress. Yes, Fade Out is the goal. But pounding out pages — any number of them — even short of The End is a worthy accomplishment.
Therefore, to honor Paul’s efforts for his 48 pages (thus far), he is today’s recipient of the Ben Hecht Award!

For your chance to win the Ben Hecht Award, one given away each day during the Challenge, post something inspiring, here on the blog, via Twitter (#ZD30SCRIPT), or the Facebook group.
