Today’s Writing Quote
“It’s all about what happens next, what happens next. It’s speed chess, not chess.”
— Richard Price
Today’s Inspirational Video
I recently discovered the composer Akira Rabelais whose work extends over quite a bit of musical geography. His last album “the little glass” is primarily comprised of ambient keyboard pieces. This one is especially contemplative and I find great for writing.

Each day this month, I’ll post a Zero Draft Thirty Challenge post here at Go Into The Story. And as I’ve done with every past Challenge, I will hand out an award for a notable Tweet, Facebook post, or comment here on the blog. This cycle, the winner will receive the Frances Marion Award!
Today’s Frances Marion Award winner: Adam Dickson.
Over in the Zero Draft Thirty Facebook group, Adam posted this:
So I’ve thrown in the towel on this ZD30 sadly. Between having video production projects with deadlines and a 3 year old who demands much of my time, I’ve just not had the capacity to finish, or even come close.
But I’m not going to give myself a hard time as I’ve delivered my video work on time and taken my screenplay from 40 pages to 80 pages and just have to write my third act which will be fun.
Plus I’ve spent loads of time with my daughter and made her happy with walks in the park do it’s all good.
I’m giving myself a ZD31 and aim to complete by the end of October.
Adam, you made the right damn choice! You got your work done. You pounded out 40 more pages of your script. And most importantly, you spent a bunch of time with your daughter. You can never get that time back, so well done, Dad.
And you are right: October awaits you to finish your script.
For this smart decision, today’s recipient of the Frances Marion Award is Adam Dickson!

You’ve got 1 more day to be a recipient of this award. Just offer some insight, humor, or something which catches my eye, either here, the Facebook group, or on Twitter (#ZD30SCRIPT).
