To me, there is no more inspirational creative figure than Bob Dylan. The very first song I learned to play on the guitar when I was 14 was “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right”. It was music which led me away from a life in academics and into this life I know now: Writer and Teacher. And throughout my journey, Dylan has been a consistent part of my musical soundtrack. Why the connection between zero draft consciousness and a hamster? The origin is lost in the mist of time, but I suspect it has something to do with this:

Zero Draft writers are busy writers. We embrace being productive. Write every day. Better to put words down than not. Go! Go! Go! We don’t do writing sprints, we do writing scampers.
