One month. FADE IN to FADE OUT. Creativity meets Productivity.
Zero Draft Thirty: Day 17.
Write an entire draft of a script in September — FADE IN. FADE OUT. Or any sort of creative goal you have in front of you.
Feature length movie screenplay. Original TV pilot. Rewrite a current project. Break a story in prep. Generate a month’s worth of story concepts.
Whatever you feel will ratchet your creative ambitions into overdrive…
DO THAT!
September 1: You type FADE IN / “Once upon a time…”
September 30: You type FADE OUT / “…They all lived happily ever after.”
It’s free! It’s fun! It’s Fade In to Fade Out!

Today’s Writing Quote
“Writing is the best gig in the whole business, as far as I’m concerned. You just sit down and make shit up.”
— Robert Mark Kamen
Today’s Inspirational Video
Named by Rolling Stone magazine as the #1 song in its list of the top 500 rock songs of all time, I concur! Play it. Revel in it. Creativity at its apex. Plus, a great moment at the beginning of the clip. This is Dylan’s ‘coming out party’ where he switched from folk music to rock. Someone in the crowd yells, “Judas!” Dylan’s response: “I don’t believe you… you’re a liar.” Which is such a great answer because that is what Judas in essence said to Jesus through his betrayal. Then Dylan tells the band, “Play it fucking loud.” Great stuff!

Each day this month, I’ll post a Zero Draft Thirty Challenge post here at Go Into The Story. And as I’ve done with every past Challenge, I will hand out an award for a notable Tweet, Facebook post, or comment here on the blog. This cycle, the winner will receive the vaunted Anita Loos Award!
Today’s Anita Loos Award winner: Nikki Syreeta.
Nikki posted something in the Zero Draft Thirty Facebook group:
“Dammit brain. Stop rewriting scenes before I can finish writing them. Shush now. You’ll have your time.”
True. A zero draft is NOT the time for rewriting. It’s a time for WRITING. You can rewrite later. Not now. Always. Move. Forward.
For that insight, the recipient of today’s Anita Loos Award is Nikki Syreeta!

Congratulations, Nikki!
