Today’s Writing Quote

“Show up, show up, show up, and after a while the muse shows up, too.”

Today’s Inspirational Video

It’s a Zero Draft Thirty tradition, beginning and ending each Challenge with a few words of wisdom from our Spirit Guide Shia Labeouf. Here is a rough transcription of his message: “JUST DO IT!!!”

Each day this month, I’ll post a Zero Draft Thirty Challenge post here at Go Into The Story. And as I’ve done with every past Challenge, I will hand out an award for a notable Tweet, Facebook post, or comment here on the blog. This cycle, the winner will receive the vaunted Anita Loos Award!

Today’s Anita Loos Award winner: Lang Ross. Lang posted this in the Zero Draft Thirty Facebook group yesterday:

Looks like I joined the group just in time!
In 3 short hours I will be wide awake and typing like a madman. I almost want to buy a super loud typewriter with an annoying line end ding, so I can get my neighbors in a good spirit too.

That’s the spirit. Use this month to really annoy your friends and family. Remind them every chance you get how many pages you wrote that day… read them your scenes acting out the parts… wake them up in the middle of the night to dry your tears and console you over a sad scene you’ve written. Basically give yourself the freedom to be this person this month:

In honor of this inspirational Facebook post, today’s recipient of the esteemed Anita Loos Award is Lang Ross!

Congratulations, Lang!
