Today’s Writing Quote
“My best writing has been on the scripts I wrote as suicide notes to the industry — sort of, ‘Fuck you, guys, I’m outta here.”
— Marc Norman
Today’s Inspirational Video
One of the most memorable moments in baseball’s World Series history. Game 7, Pittsburgh Pirates vs. the mighty New York Yankees, tied 9–9 in the bottom of the 9th inning, Bill Mazeroski steps up to the plate. I saw this as 7 year old boy and can still remember it to this day.
Today’s Loos Award winner: Arlene Miles.
Arlene posted this over in the Zero Draft Thirty Facebook group:
Today is Akira Kurosawa’s 108 birthday. I wanted to share this inspirational video with everyone! Enjoy!
I added this:
Kurosawa, one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, said this:
“If you genuinely want to make films, then write screenplays. All you need to write a script is paper and a pencil. It’s only through writing scripts that you learn specifics about the structure of film and what cinema is."
For remembering Kurosawa on his birthday, the recipient of today’s Anita Loos Award is Arlene Miles!
